It’s been a busy couple of months for AC Milan midfielder Domenico Berardi, with the Italian giants now sitting in third place in Serie A and one point behind Juventus and Real Madrid.
The 26-year-old will join the Serie A champions on a free transfer in the coming days, with AC Milan looking to add some firepower in their attack and Berardi has a proven track record of scoring at a high level.
However, as his agent Mario Bava pointed out, the Milan defender will need to prove his fitness and commitment to Milan before he can sign.
According to a report in La Repubblica, the former Italy Under-21 international is in talks with Milan about a transfer.
Berardi’s current contract expires in the summer of 2020, so he is looking for a new deal.
The midfielder was a late addition to AC Milan last summer, signing from Italian side Palermo for €4.7 million, but has since struggled for form.
He’s scored just once in the league this season and only scored once in his last nine appearances for AC.
As for what Milan’s intentions will be in the transfer window, Bava said: “They want to be a top team and he has to prove himself.”
